Gas exploration company Igrene and Norwegian SEID have entered into an expanded agreement to develop the ColdSpark technology in the Nordic region. The technology enables the conversion of methane into hydrogen and carbon powder with no carbon dioxide emissions.The collaboration includes the establishment of test facilities in Sweden, initially in the southern and western parts, and later the rest of the Nordic region, with Igrene as the lead for the projects. A Norwegian industrial program, supported by Innovasjon Norge and Grønn Platform, will drive the development toward commercialization. No financial details are disclosed.
